GREETINGS FROM THOSE ON THE PATH TO BEING DEBT FREE
Our modern society is set up to get us into debt. I was raised with the phrase, "If you don't have the cash to pay for something , then you don't need it." Of course I started on a path of debt. I got a college loan and two credit cards while in college. More on this later.
I kept my debt at bay for many years by not having credit cards or any store credit. However when I went to get a home loan, I didn't have enough good credit history to get a loan. So I bought a couch on credit. Which had a cash advance attached to it. Now I am in debt. Now I know it was my choice to go into debt. I had that credit there in case of emergency and of course a number of emergencies arose. Now I think, from what I have read, that it is more important to save money for the emergency. My goal now is to get out of debt.
Hello my name is Navar. The love of my life Lori and I are, as I like to say, creative adventurist that do what ever it takes to make a buck. We have dabled in many creative endeavours such as: painting, writing (poetry, short stories, non-fiction, fiction, articles), photography, videography, acting. Want to write, act, direct my own major movie. However over the years we have found our selves stuck in jobs that we really don't like and as a result they just don't last or shall I say we just don't last in them. For many years I did jobs that where short term by nature. Lasting 2 to 6 months: fishing trawlers (catcher prosessors) in the Bearing Sea out of Dutch Harbor Alaska and off of the cost of Syberia in the Sea of Okoshk, and worked in Gold Mine reclamation. The longest I have been at one job was 4 years. That worked out because the boss was very flexable. I could say hey my photographer friend wants to hire me as a photo assistant for two days next week to float the yellowstone river and take pictures. "Do you mind if I go?", he would say something like "Sure sure thats fine. Will you be caught up?" "Yes." "Ya, we're not to busy. Ok go ahead." Sometimes I would get in a painting mood over the weekend and not want to stop the mood. So I would call in on Monday morning and say, "I am sorry but I won't be in today.' Wow how I do miss that job. Well at least for the flexability. The problem with working a job, when in the back of your mind you are always thinking, "I sure wished I could be making a living at one of my creative endeviours." is that ultimately it just doesn't work. At least that has been my experience so far. I know that it does work for some. However as inspired by GENIUS TYPES WEBSITE, DAVE RAMSEY, KEN GIDDONS, and BRIAN TRACY we are now on a path to being debt free. We welcome you to join us on this journey.
