GREETINGS FROM THOSE ON THE PATH TO BEING DEBT FREE
Lori's thoughts on saving money and getting out of debt.
Coupons Sales and Big Deals
Now I don't have a lot to say on this subject although I do Love to get a great deal save a buck and wheel and deal. That being said when dealing with others individuals I believe in Win-Win situations as the ideal. To get a person to play the game, 'lets see how low they can go'. Although this is great for the ego and pocket book however if there is resentment or a feeling on their part, that they have been screwed, then that is not a win-win situation. Therefore I try to keep that in mind. Keeping a balance of looking for a GREAT DEAL but at the same time being able to walk away from the deal feeling, “I did well but I was also fair.”
I think you need to find out your own shopping style and spending comfort zone. (link)
Shopping addiction is another topic unto itself.
Find out what your willing to do and not todo. For instance, I'm not a big fan of coupon cutting, I know that the savings can be huge bla, bla, bla. Now I need to work with my strengths and comfort cutting carrying and present the large stack of coupons is not my style but on that note, I am willing to look at grocery sale flyer's and shop accordingly. Recently I found a sale on sweet potatoes $10.00 for 10lbs. WOW a great deal. The other day I cooked all 10lbs, peeled, mixed, put them into cute little square plastic boxes and put them into the freezer. The house was nice and warm from the heat from the stove. Ten pounds! Thats a lot of sweet potatoes. I made a sweet potatoe pie, yummy. I've been eating while writing this article, sipping coffee, waiting for the snow to unleash from the threatening grey sky. Here is the link for the pie receipt (link). Recipe for cheap and cheerful yummy cooking.
